Future Olympians!

Two weekends ago, mi familia attended the Lutheran Schools Track meet.  See how I threw in a little Dora language for ya' just to keep you on your toes...
Anyway, it was such a FUN FUN day!  Mostly cuz I was still enjoying frappuccinos!! 

To start things off,  Sophie competed in the Pre-School Race.  We traded her flip flops for  her running shoes, stretched her out before, and gave her a pep talk.  She was soooo prepared and her mind was so full of winning the race that... she forgot to run!!!   Actually I think it was because she wanted to make an entrance as she crossed the finish line.  Kind of like showing up to a party fashionably late.

But that's OK - her big brother was there to encourage her all the way down the track!

She finally made it across and she LOVED her award!!

Next, it was time for one of Jake's events - the running long jump.  He was amazing!  Never having jumped before and only having watched his sister... He got 2nd place!  He jumped 9' 2".

When the day was done, Jake received a First (Relay), a Second (Long Jump), a 3rd (by inches in the 50 yd. dash). and a 4th (100 yd. dash).  He has a very colorful assortment of ribbons!

 And finally, Little Miss Long Legs broke the 8th grade record in the Long Jump!!

She jumped 14' 2".  She hasn't jumped in a year and only took a couple of practice jumps so she was pretty happy!!

All in all, it was a fabulous day spent with good friends, my special family, and my precious frappuccino.

I have laughed so hard at all of your comments and am taking all of the advice for Lauren to heart.  Especially, the no slicked back ponytails, Angie  But I'm not so sure about the short skirts, Aunt Lara!!
