Formal Details

Because I know you want to know EVERYTHING...
The day was one of the coldest and gloomiest yet!  The sun never surfaced.  But Lauren was up and smiling and being taken to the Rabobank to decorate at 7:30 am.

We hosted 32 kiddos for dinner before the formal, so the rental company delivered all of our goodies and by the time Lauren returned the tables looked amazing!

The Formal theme was 'Arabian Nights' so we added a few lanterns and the colors of the Formal and we were ready to go!

She had her hair done and even her make-up - lots of sparkle- but her dad requested that she not come home looking too different and I think it turned out perfect!
This is her date, Noah.  He is a friend of hers from the Jr. High they both attended.

She hurt her knee on Tuesday of "Formal Week" so she had to wear a brace to stabilize herself a bit... Good news:  it wasn't her ACL as we originally feared.  Bad news:  She hasn't played in over a week and the CHAMPIONSHIP game is Tuesday night.  It's against Stockdale (of course) and whoever wins is the Power League champion.  She wants to play sooooo badly so we have an extra heavy-duty brace being sent to us as we speak that her Dr. ordered.  keep your fingers crossed.  And don't call CPS cuz her dad might just let her play...
Anyway, back to the story...  here she is with her pretty brace.  I didn't get very many pictures of the back of her dress, but it was darling - and notice the cute messy updo - totally perfect!

And then the kiddos arrived and kept arriving!  But first, a couple of pictures with  Jake who had worked like a mad-man helping decorate and organize for the get-together!

This is most of her soccer team.  She LOVES them - they are so much fun!

And this is Amanda, she plays center defender with Lauren.  They look too cute to play soccer!

This girl in the pink came with a boy from Frontier.  She plays soccer at Centennial.  Two weeks ago Lauren gave her (inadvertently) a bloody nose on the soccer field.  I will say it again, They are too cute to play soccer!

Dinner:  Enchiladas, tamales, and queso as well as street tacos from Tacos mi Casa.  Just like on the streets of Ensenada.  Oooh that takes me back to my college days.  They were fabulous!!

Then off they went to the dance...

And we were left alone with this:
After the formal a few came back and I pried some details out of them while they munched on leftovers.  Then they jumped back in the limo to take the boys home and the girls came back for a sleepover.

Lauren and her best buddy, Casey.  Both of them were freshman princesses - what a fun memory to have!  (the beautiful updo had fallen a bit by 1 am)

The last drive after a long day!

I think she would do it all over again every weekend if she could!!
