Go Gunners!!

Lauren's soccer team just rocked out the BIGGEST win ever!

Today was the last game of the season. We play in the Coast Soccer League and the girls had a devastating loss yesterday that left us one point away from first place.  And ONLY first place moves up a division. So, whoever wins today moves up to the Silver Elite Division - HUGE!!
If we lose, or even tie, we stay right where we are -  for an entire year again. No second chances.
(You know it's an important game when my always always hungry daughter doesn't eat anything before...)
Lots of soccer games are low scoring - even 0-0, but 0-0 wouldn't work.  We had to score and then hold them!
Their entire season, and next year's season as well, came down to today's 70 minutes of soccer.
And we won!!!  1 - 0!!
It was a beautiful goal from Elizabeth and then Lauren and the defenders shut them down!
You should have been there...  Parents cheering, coaches crying, mamas getting teary. And 16 girls who felt the joy of accomplishing something amazing.
I have a lot of great pictures to share, but just wanted to get a couple out now of the after-game celebration.  We're pretty giddy in our house tonight.  Big Big Day for Lauren's team!
Take a look at my baby's face:

Yep, that's Joey and the coach in a bear hug :)

Yay for the Gunners!!
